Wilson Stuart is a special school located in Birmingham, for students between 2 and 19 years of age. Their students have complex physical disabilities and medical needs and every one has an Education Health Care Plan in place.
Back in 1956 the school moved to the newly built premises on Perry Common Road, Erdington, Birmingham, where it remains to this day.
The school has an incredible history. In 2006 Wilson Stuart became the first Special School in England to become a Specialist Sports College. In 2012 it became the first Special Academy School in Birmingham which an impressive feat. You can find more history on their website.
A fantastic memorial tree now stands outside the school that celebrates the lives of students and staff. The tree is made from steel and was constructed by Reverie Canal Trading.
GM Building donated the striking metal leaves for this tree, and the whole artwork is a beautiful, lasting memorial to those it commemorates.
